King of the Queen City 2010 Video and Emerica Stay Gold Premiere

This Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Common Market South End will be hosting the premiere of each team’s final video edit from the 2010 King of the Queen City skateboarding contest that just ended. Come out and support your fellow skaters and the local scene. Following the local video premiere we will be showing the brand new Emerica video, Stay Gold.

The Berrics: Black Sheep Field Ops

Steve Berra and the Berrics crew came through town and paid us a visit a few weeks back. Steve is an amazing skateboarder and always involved in something new and exciting. It was a real honor to show them around our home town, catch up a bit, and hear about some recent projects.

They also filmed a Field Ops profile on Black Sheep that day and it just got posted up over on the Berrics– you can watch it below. A big thanks to Steve Berra for taking some time out of his busy schedule to come through and also to Daniel Duarte for all the hard work filming and editing the segment– we really appreciate all the support.

The article delves into the intricacies and unique flavor of the Southern Sneaker Scene and also features commentary from two prominent ATL spots, Wish as well as our homies over at Standard. It’s pretty wild to think that people across the big pond are interested in what’s going on in the Dirty South, so I guess that means we’re doing something right. Come join us for the unveiling of the first Black Sheep x AKomplice Collabo tee this Friday, May 21st here at the shop. It’s a remix of an out of print classic and available in an exclusive colorway only at Black Sheep.

Stop by and be one of the first to check the latest goods, have a drink, and just hang out. Niche is also doing a big tee shirt launch that night, so the Camden Block is sure to be rocking.

We’ll be hanging at the shop from 6:00 - 10:00 pm and then moving over to Dharma Lounge for the After Party featuring NYC’s DJ Cousin Cole.

I’ve been a fan of Cole’s for a few years, so really looking forward to seeing him play live on the block. Dude is legit, so be sure to check some of his mixes here.

blk shp x bluetan LTD Edition Decks Now Available

The latest in a series of Artist Collaboration Sheep Decks: the blk shp x bluetan limited edition decks are now available. Our buddies over at the Art Collective, Bluetan have always been huge supporters of the shop, so we were really hyped when Joseph O’Neal hit us up with the idea to incorporate one of Steve “Cobra” Chellis’ pieces into a deck design for us. Cobra’s work is currently on display in the Skate and Create Exhibition at the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina presented by our Souf Cacka homies at BlueTile. His fine art style is both a unique departure from our previous collaboration decks and a fantastic addition to the series. We are really stoked to have his his work grace one of our boards.
