Neff East Vs. West Shop Video Contest Round 2: Black Sheep Vs. ZJ Boarding House

The Neff Headwear and Transworld Skateboarding East Vs. West Shop Video Contest is heating up.

blacksheep_eastwest

Round 1 was a serious match up between East: NJ Skateshop and West: Exit Real World with each posting super long clips that literally blew us away with the amount of riders/ footage and the insane quality of skating. These first two clips are currently in a dead tie and they have ignited a flurry of comments and controversy.

Well, Round 2 has just gone live with Black Sheep Vs. ZJ Boarding House. We submitted a pretty grimey East Coast edit that Drew Adams threw together for us. Typical Spawns of Gnar fashion with a dirty ass lens and featuring Marky Clements, Drew Adams, Hunter McNeish, Ian Isenhour, Justin Pittman, Blake Spencer, OJ Farrar, Trey Boyd, and Tripp Bartlett. (We also have some file compression issues that are distorting it a bit, but please bear with us until we can get a better quality version uploaded…)

Our main objective was to share a small glimpse into the local scene. It’s really hard to narrow it down to a single clip of certain spots and skaters, so here’s an alternate edit that Phelps put together as well. Check it out, then be sure to head over to TWS watch the official clip and show your support for Black Sheep and the entire East Coast.

Make sure to spread the word on Twitter and Facebook and tell all your friends to VOTE East Coast!

Black Sheep Skate Shop Presents: Pandemonium Jones - Skull Candle

Brian Curtis, a.k.a. Pandemonium Jones is an interesting individual. I mean that in the most  complimentary way, too. Once he camped out at my apartment for a week and kept us all entertained by playing sets around Charlotte (including the raddest in store set @ Black Sheep). The dude has such good taste in music and adds his own steez to his sets. This mix is one of my favorites and we have been playing it @ the shop for five days straight. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we do!!!!  Be on the look out for hand screened compact discs and shirts supporting our good friend’s efforts soon….–Chase

(I’ve been a fan of Pandemonium Jones from the time I heard the first Caps and Jones Bouillabaisse mix up through all his solo projects now. Be sure to check his site Mixed Messages for lots of other great mixes. He’s a really talented and great guy all around, and we’re really honored to be a part of this mix. In his words, “a rad mix of funky rock and psychedelic soul.” Thanks Brian!–Josh)

Elwood welcomes Dan Plunkett

wutenclan-danp

Dan Plunkett rips. However, Elwood clothing does not rip because it’s some high quality apparel. If you purchase Elwood clothing you probably will not shred as hard as Mr. Plunkett, but there is a good chance you will look just as steezy. Peep Dan’s clip here. Congratulations from your friends @ Black Sheep, Dan.

48 Blocks: Aaron Meza interview

meza

I had the good fortune of meeting Mr. Meza at the Girl HQ’s a few months back. He’s the Visual Marketing Manager for The Girl skateboard Co., responsible for The Randoms on Crailtap.com, and the mastermind behind the early FTC shop videos. ( The dude is good at what he does and I shook his hand three times before I left his office. I kooked it and fanned out… -Chase)  Check out his interview on 48blocks.com
