We went to Raleigh a few weeks back for the 5th Annual Best Damn Shop Contest. Each year the level of skating (and after partying) gets gnarlier and gnarlier. So many amazing shops and skaters in attendance, so definitely an honor just to be in the mix. Some insane skating went down this year for sure with dudes like Gilbert Crockett, Shaun Gregoire, and even some newcomers in the mix.
Marky Clements and Blake Spencer repped Charlotte and the Sheep and held it down with some bangers, but DC- based Palace 5 took the top honors for the second year in a row.

S.O.G. coming through with a sick edit from the Shred for Bread 2 contest last Sunday at Soulride Skatepark. Charlotte’s 3rd Annual King’s of the Queen City Contest ran August 12-21, 2011.
Teams competed for points by completing different challenges including terrain challenges, Charlotte spot challenges, and Best/Most/Highest overall challenges - similar to Thrasher’s King of the Road contest but specifically for Charlotte, NC.
This years KOTQC contest went better than ever, with over 10 teams of 5 guys signing up. 10 days later we had around 4 teams finish up. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work and sick skating! After we tallied all the points in the end, TEAM TRU consisting of Adam Nichols, Radeem Walls, Alex Julka, Michael Nichols and Matt Schneider stood on top and took the money, decks, wheels and shoes for first place. Congrats guys!!

Kings of the Queen City 2011 Video Premiere
We will be premiering the final videos from the top teams in the King’s of the Queen City contest. This is similar to Thrasher’s King of the Road contest specifically for Charlotte.
Teams competed for points by completing different challenges including terrain challenges, Charlotte spot challenges, and Best/Most/Highest overall challenges. Various teams all around the Charlotte Area when out and got busy for a week trying to win the title for this year, so come check out what went down and see who won! Killer prize packs and cash for the winners.
