Following in the footsteps of the recent beer inspired “Guinness” Dunk Highs, the “Black and Tan” Dunk Lows take their inspiration from the tradition of mixing a Pale Ale such as Bass with a darker Porter like Guinness to create a delicious “half and half” cocktail.

A perfect shoe to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Holiday in, these kicks pay homage to the famous two tone beverage and feature a great mix of colors and materials, including a brown suede toebox, tan leather panels, cream leather Nike Swoosh, black suede heel panel, and a unique gradient canvas mid panel that fades characteristically from black to tan.

The shoes are further accented by a custom insole featuring an illustration of a pint glass filled with black and tan. The “Black and Tan” Dunk Lows are finished off by a cream midsole atop a black outsole and an extra set of brown laces.

Black Sheep just got an early drop of the upcoming March 2012 “Under the Line” in-store only release, the Nike SB Stefan Janoski ‘Hay’ (Hay/Black-White-GM Light Brown).

Great looking winter/early spring release. The Nike Zoom Stefan Janoski ‘Hay’ features a textured leather on the entire upper in a subtle light brown color coupled with black accents on the piping, swoosh and branding. It’s finished off with white vulcanized sole and gum herringbone outsole.

The “Hay” colorway is one of the better looking Janoski styles to drop in the past few months, and guaranteed not to sit on the shelf for long. Now available in Men’s size 6-13, while supplies last.

Black Sheep Artist Series: Reid “Switch” Bramhall

We are proud to introduce the latest installment in our Artist Series Collaboration Skate Decks, the Switch x Black Sheep “Robots” Deck.

The art for the Limited Edition “Robots” Black Sheep Deck was created by Reid “Switch” Bramhall. Reid is a long time friend of the shop, and he has contributed to many of our previous group art shows and fund raisers. He is a humble guy that has always supported Black Sheep and local area business, and is active in the local art community.

His signature style of funny and mischievous characters and bold, bright colors is reminiscent of classic graphics of the late 80’s and early 90’s era of skate art. We were especially excited to work with Reid on this project because it is unlike any of our previous collaboration decks.

“My art focuses on the playfulness of happy little characters, creatures and monsters. I paint to bring out the kid in all of us and the funny, playful side we all have within ourselves. Best Damn Shop Contest 2011

We went to Raleigh a few weeks back for the 5th Annual Best Damn Shop Contest. Each year the level of skating (and after partying) gets gnarlier and gnarlier. So many amazing shops and skaters in attendance, so definitely an honor just to be in the mix. Some insane skating went down this year for sure with dudes like Gilbert Crockett, Shaun Gregoire, and even some newcomers in the mix.

Marky Clements and Blake Spencer repped Charlotte and the Sheep and held it down with some bangers, but DC- based Palace 5 took the top honors for the second year in a row.
