Black Sheep x Alien Workshop Official Web Release
Black Sheep is proud to officially announce our collaboration with legendary skate company, Alien Workshop. Now available for purchase in-store and online.
AWS has been a creative force for decades and they have produced some of the most influential and iconic graphics ever to grace a skateboard. As longtime skaters with deep roots in the 80’s/ 90’s east coast, Black Sheep has always had a huge respect for Alien Workshop and all the ground-breaking skating, videos, and timeless art they have produced — so this collaboration is especially meaningful to us.
It is also an honor to have original Alien Workshop co-founder and art director, Mike Hill participate in the creative process and contribute such an iconic AWS graphic reference, re-interpreting it in true Black Sheep fashion. You may recognize the classic “Sheeple” graphic from an original Alien Workshop release from the 90’s and re-released a few years ago for their 20th anniversary, commentating on the herd mentality of the general public.
This graphic concept spoke to us and was a perfect fit aligning with the core beliefs of Black Sheep– to celebrate the individual and independent spirit while forging ahead and rejecting the crowd mentality, embracing individuality instead of the norm. Often taking a risk being a leader instead of a follower, even if labelled an outcast.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Alien Workshop involved in making this project happen. They have continued to push and produce innovative, quality products for over 20 years with the same passion and drive as the day they were founded.
This collaboration is definitely a milestone for Black Sheep and something we will proudly hang on the wall for years to come.

Summer is hot in Charlotte.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE that came out to the “Meet the DGK’s” Team Signing at Black Sheep on Friday, June 17. It’s been a hectic couple of days but we’re making our way through all the photos and video from the past week, including Go Skate Day (expect a recap soon).
In the meantime, check out some photos from the “Meet the DGK’s” below. HUGE THANKS to everyone at KAYO Corp. for supporting Black Sheep and the Charlotte skate scene, especially DGK and Jack Curtin, Marcus McBride, Lenny Rivas, and Derrick Wilson for coming through and kicking it. We saw kids hyped walking away with signed gear, free posters, t-shirts for impromptu 360 flips and even a couple of decks for the most destroyed setups! The DGK guys evens signed one shop homie’s steering wheel while parked out front! DGK ALL DAY! Great day overall brought together by friendship and skateboarding.

Category :We had a record breaking turnout last week with Hundreds and Hundreds coming through to get autographs and memorabilia signed (including several, rare old school Lance Mountain decks and even a mint pair of old school Kostons still in the box !!!).
The Southern Hospitality was in full force, so you know we had to treat the Nike SB crew to some world famous Price’s Fried Chicken with all the fixin’s, and even snuck them out to skate a few top secret spots before the signing.
The Nike SB cameras were rolling and capturing the whole crazy event, so hopefully we’ll see lots of Charlotte footage when the official EK-1 SB Eric Koston micro site launches this summer.
A BIG SHOUT OUT to the entire Nike Skateboarding family for bringing the Nike SB “Too Cold to Hold” Tour to Black Sheep and the Queen City.
Also, an EXTRA SPECIAL THANK YOU to Eric Koston, Brad Staba, Lance Mountain, Daryl Angel, Matt Beach, Ishod Wair, Jon Humphries and Jason Hernandez for filming the event, and EVERYONE that came out to rep Charlotte Skateboarding, support the event, and ESPECIALLY for being so patient while waiting outside.
Stay tuned for a video montage of the event, but in the meantime, peep a few photos from the evening.

The entire Black Sheep crew would like to THANK Element Skateboards, Chad Tim Tim, Donny Barley and EVERYONE that came out to the Element In-store Appearance Sunday!
The crowd was so big that it spilled out into Camden Road. Lots of peeps walked away with autographs as well as free stickers, tee shirts, and skate decks. Good turnout, good weather, good vibe.
Stay tuned for more events coming up soon… we’re just getting started. Spring/Summer is coming in hottt.

Thanks for helping us make 2010 our biggest and brightest year yet.
We look forward to an even better 2011. Have a Safe and Happy New Year’s.

Category :Some coverage popping up on the web from last weekend’s Red Bull Manny Mania.
This was an epic weekend with lots of great skating and lots of great friends in town to hang out and rage. Another special thanks to all the homies at Red Bull, SPoT, and all the shops and skaters that showed up for supporting Black Sheep and Charlotte Skateboarding.
Mike has some photos of the local crew up over at Danger Means Nothing. Also, be sure to check the main page for lots of other great photos.

Ryan Flynn was in town for the event and has posted some great pics up over at Skateboarder Magazine
Matt Fink ripped it up all day long in the heat and came in first with Scotty Moore and Connor Champion in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Lots of Black Sheep homies rounding out the top 12 as well, so the locals were definitely ripping it up.

Checkout a quick video clip and final results over at Skatepark of Tampa.
