Murs Chilling @ Black Sheep

murs
If you’ve been following the Black Sheep Twitter, then you already know that Underground Hip Hop Legend Murs came through the Sheep yesterday and kicked it with the Camden Crew. Murs is super down to earth, and we even chatted about when I saw him in concert at the the Charlotte underground hip hop club, the “Hungry Duck” about 7-8 years ago as well as his “Dream Team of Top 10 Skaters of All Time.”

Dude is super mellow and has hip hop and skate knowledge for days, so much respect. He even copped an ill tie dyed Black Sheep tee to support the cause. Be sure to check Murs out online and support real, independent hip hop.

Skate Rock is Blowing Up the East Coast!

skaterockeastcoasttour
The Altamont guys are in the midst of an East Coast Skate Rock Tour featuring The Goat and Bad Shit. Looks like there were fireworks (literally) when the Skate Rock crew barged open mic night in Raleigh last week. Luckily, only a bar table suffered an atomic elbow drop, and they didn’t pull a “Great White” and burn the whole place down. Speaking of fire, checkout some throwback footage of Heath Kirchart and Jeremy Klein blowing shit up in The End.

Black Sheep Skate Shop Presents: Pandemonium Jones - Skull Candle

Brian Curtis, a.k.a. Pandemonium Jones is an interesting individual. I mean that in the most  complimentary way, too. Once he camped out at my apartment for a week and kept us all entertained by playing sets around Charlotte (including the raddest in store set @ Black Sheep). The dude has such good taste in music and adds his own steez to his sets. This mix is one of my favorites and we have been playing it @ the shop for five days straight. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we do!!!!  Be on the look out for hand screened compact discs and shirts supporting our good friend’s efforts soon….–Chase

(I’ve been a fan of Pandemonium Jones from the time I heard the first Caps and Jones Bouillabaisse mix up through all his solo projects now. Be sure to check his site Mixed Messages for lots of other great mixes. He’s a really talented and great guy all around, and we’re really honored to be a part of this mix. In his words, “a rad mix of funky rock and psychedelic soul.” Thanks Brian!–Josh)

A Visual Sound.” Its purpose is to help you build the ultimate skate-video nerd musical library, which is very, very useful. Like, if you need to listen to music… that comes.. err.. from a skateboard video, for instance.”
