My old east coast skate homie, Jason Filipow designed a really sick Artist Series Sheep deck for us a few months back, and we got a great response. I always knew Jason was an amazingly creative and talented individual, so super stoked to work with him years later. As always, JRF has been staying really busy updating his blog with all sorts of really amazing projects involving skating, art, and music. Be sure to check out some pics and info of a recent show with Mike V and his online store for a chance to purchase some of his creations.
Here’s how Jason described his most recent series, “A new series of paradoxical, 1/1 screenprints inspired by re-appropriated Dada and Seditionary imagery and rhetoric. Each unique, 18″ x 24″ print is a challenging visual and conceptual balancing act between order and chaos; an ambiguous, but compelling, narrative without logic. Because of the variety of images, screens, inks and paper stock used in this series, there are no two prints that are exactly alike.”

Category :Wow, missed the boat on this but apparently late 80s/90s magazine Poweredge is back on the scene being published 4 times a year. It was great back in the day. Check their site for a virtual time capsule of cool stuff like the Q&A with Danny Way when he was 15. They’re also putting out a video called We Are Skateboarders that looks like mandatory viewing with a positive message. Check the trailer. Skateboarding could use a little therapy. (link via ZigBoys)
NC legend and amazing writer Scott Bourne recently gave Slap Magazine a commentary on his sick part from Strongest of the Strange.

Category :The latest in a series of Artist Collaboration Sheep Decks: the blk shp x bluetan limited edition decks are now available. Our buddies over at the Art Collective, Bluetan have always been huge supporters of the shop, so we were really hyped when Joseph O’Neal hit us up with the idea to incorporate one of Steve “Cobra” Chellis’ pieces into a deck design for us. Cobra’s work is currently on display in the Skate and Create Exhibition at the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina presented by our Souf Cacka homies at BlueTile. His fine art style is both a unique departure from our previous collaboration decks and a fantastic addition to the series. We are really stoked to have his his work grace one of our boards.
